Our Mission: |
Valley Yoga is a
sanctuary for Mind, Body, Spirit and Community. Our center permeates with a
strong sense of community, a place to practice yoga in a warm, inviting,
nurturing and encouraging environment. Our teachers offer yoga instruction
and classes that are authentic, safe and appropriate for all ranges of
ability and experience. Our classes offer both the comfort of consistency as
well as the opportunity to deepen your practice and explore!
Yoga is for everyone! Women & men, girls & boys, old & young.
Everyone and anyone can benefit from yoga. Education about the healthy
physical and mental benefits of yoga is a cornerstone of our center. Yoga
assists with the integration of body and mind. It’s an excellent way to
exercise our body and mind, so we stay healthy physically and mentally.
Valley Yoga is a community anchored in friendship, openness,
tolerance and a willingness to embrace change. The atmosphere is fun and
uplifting, with community events and activities to further build and
strengthen our community.
Valley Yoga positively and constructively interacts with the
community the center operates. We conduct activities to build and grow a
strong sense of community.
Valley Yoga will export the benefits of yoga to commercial,
social, non-profit, governmental and healthcare organizations as a means to
increase employee moral, productively and creativity.
LOWER
BACK CARE THROUGH THERAPEUTIC YOGA
Every Tuesday beginning April 27; 6:00pm-7:15pm
Taught by: Karla Geoffroy, certified Structural Yoga Therapist and
back care specialist.
6-week class series. $72 for 6 weeks; $13 for Drop In
Pre-registration is requested for those enrolling in the 6-week
program.
Lower Back Care Through Therapeutic Yoga class format varies
depending upon the needs of the individuals in the class. Most
classes consist of yoga postures and therapeutic movements that will
strengthen the lower back and abdomen, and improve the flexibility
in the hips. Students who have more specific needs like sacroiliac
issues or scoliosis, may be given some postures adapted specifically
for those needs.
Lower Back Care Through Therapeutic Yoga focuses more specifically
on the hips, sacrum, and lower back. It is suitable for students
wanting a yoga class that focuses on back health, those who have
herniated disk (s) and have completed physical therapy and/or have
physician approval to begin a gentle yoga practice, sciatic pain,
scoliosis, sacroiliac pain or sensitivity, hip tightness and back
weakness.
Students in good physical health, or longtime yoga practitioners,
can also enjoy this class for its focus on back heath and for the
many modifications that can be made to make the postures more simple
or challenging, matching the needs of each particular student.
Pre registration can be done online at
www.valley-yoga.com.
The complete Valley Yoga class schedule is available online at
www.valley-yoga.com,
offering a wide range of drop in classes during morning hours,
