"Strong In Spirit"
East to West Coast Ride
In 2008, David DiNicola of Middlefield, walked along a
trail near Mount Greylock Regional High School with KaDee. At
that time, KaDee, a German Shepherd, was 14 years old and was
slightly paralyzed in her back legs and moved with the help of
a wheel unit. They were walking in the 5th Annual
Humane Race. The race is presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition,
and benefits the Berkshire Humane Society. KaDee started the
race with DiNicola, his wife Karen, and two of their other
dogs, Logan and Dakaa, but she couldn’t finish the race. David
said, “I couldn’t leave her in the car, she just wants to be
where everyone else is.”
KaDee passed away in 2009 at the age of 15.
In her Honor
in August of 2011,
David is riding his Harley from Middlefield, MA to
Eureka, CA to raise money for the Berkshire Humane Society and
the Catskill Animal Sanctuary. The ride will be called
“Strong in Spirit East to West Coast.”
