Kelly's MeadowWood
is an architectural woodworking shop that provides custom
residential woodworking to the hilltowns.
We offer the
finest in custom residential architectural woodworking to
both home owners and contractors.
Offerings
include:
Cabinetry
built to meet special or existing conditions. In the antique
homes of New England it is often desirable to create new
work that duplicates or compliments the style and finish of
the original woodwork. I provide onsite field measurement
and design services to insure an n elegant tie-in of new to
old work. I can produce exact reproduction of existing
moldings in short runs using custom ground cutters taken
from your sample.
Custom wood
doors are another way to put a special stamp on a
project. Whether matching pre-existing interior doors in and
old colonial or creating an elegant entry for a new home,
finely crafted doors can make a wonderful presentation.
Stairs and
handrails are an area of a residence that can create
great impact. In many open format homes the stair forms a
sculptural focal point of the space. Thoughtful
consideration of materials and careful craftsmanship ensure
that this area continues to provide enjoyment for years.
Curved work
can be used in all of the above areas and has long been a
specialty of mine. During years of working in yacht
construction I developed the skills necessary to draw and
build complex three dimensional shapes and for years now
have been applying these techniques to my work. Curved
moldings, cabinets and stair parts are all within my
repertoire. I have extensive experience in templateing the
existing conditions of a space to produce new work that fits
exactly. The shop has an array of equipment to facilitate
curved work; including a Universal Concepts arch molder
allows the production of custom profiled moldings to 6" wide
in shapes such as arcs, ellipses and circles.
