Talk and Slideshow
Robert Sweeney will give a
talk and slideshow Sunday May 22, 2011 at 4pm at the
Worthington Historical Society on the corner of Rt 112 and 143 in
Worthington.. He is a longtime painter, a Professor and Fine Art
Chair at Amherst College and Worthington resident. Sweeney has
received many honors and awards for his art, and has exhibited in
New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, including at the Kendall
Gallery in Wellfleet, Baczek Fine Arts in Northampton and presently
at the Rolly-Michaux Gallery in Boston. His landscape paintings
depict scenes from locations as varied as Italy, classic views of
the Oxbow in western Massachusetts, a Cape series that includes
Provincetown scenes and the "Flower Cottages" to his wife, Barbara's
garden in their Worthington back yard.
The event is sponsored by Arts Alive in the Hilltowns and is free.
Donations are appreciated.

CONCERT by JIM KAMINSKI

Worthington
Jim Kaminski is a former RCA
recording artist with FAT. He is an accomplished songwriter vocalist
and guitar player. His 30 years of experience in blues/rock shows in
his amazing pulsating finger- vibrato style. He has made the rounds
with Stevie Wonder, toured with Muddy Waters and more.
He will be playing electric guitar with his band in Worthington on May
28 from 7-9pm at RH Conwell School (across from the
Worthington Town Hall.)_He calls the event a "Dance Concert" because
many people love dancing to the music style. Jim says he wants to
"move people and evoke some emotional response." "Music is about
feeling", says Kaminski.
The public is welcome. The event is sponsored by ArtsAlive in the Hilltowns
and is free. Donations are appreciated. |
